Artist's Description

The plain old round moon has always seemed full of stories to me. That battered visage with billion year old craters tells such a story about deep time that I sometimes shiver at what our sister planet whispers to us from the sky.

Frogs is cool. I wonder if they get a bit of a bad rap because we usually see them clumsily toddling about, or sitting still in some dank place we would never settle down on. But they are so fluid in the water, they transform throughout their life cycle, they have multiple ways of breathing and they can live buried in cold mud for months or even years. Not to mention those beautiful eyes that carry their own froggy wisdom nurtured over many millions of years

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I feel that cycles – beginnings, growth and relationships in the world – are important to both discover and share. I am constantly wondering where things came from, what is within them and what they will become. As a child, I would hug a tree and try to see right inside of the trunk – eyes closed, visualizing the roots and sensing the flex and sway in the wind. My art reflects this abiding curiosity, which I can pursue and share with others by drawing out connections seen with the mind’s eye. My everyday world is filtered through eyes which are marked by a condition known as Anisometropia – where one eye is nearsighted and the other farsighted.
