Description
Using the female form as a template Tree Dancers are my artistic vision of how we interact with the world around us They bathe in light, pull water up from the earth, exhale purity, and dance. Im not sure people credit the powerful energy that a tree represents. Trees have this incredible ability to pull life and form from the soil and using earth, water and light they structure themselves into the sky. That is what gives trees that dynamic that we read so many analogies into, and part of what allows the synthesis of Tree and Woman to work so well.

I am thrilled to see that I have a partner in perception. This style can be traced as far back as the early 14th century in the work of Andrea Mantegna. However, I derived my inspiration from a statement by Leonardo da Vinci in which he said, " The artist who wishes to enhance his faculties of creative invention, may look at a stain on the wall and therein perceive whatever he wishes to see." Thanks for sharing. I love your work.

Thanks so much for the comment David! The draughtsmen of the 15th and 16th centuries are an inspiration to us all.
